Boys’ High wins debate
'• Christchurch Boys’ High -School narrowly beat Moreau College, Dunedin, in the ."South Island final of the .Jaycee secondary schools’ ■debating contest in Christchurch last evening. The winning team of Bruce Bennett, Simon Barrett. and Brent Burney argued that automation set 'people free from soul'.destroying, robot-like menial -jobs. ' Julie Dunn, Madelene .-Shelling, and Pauline Mein■ing said that automation would not benefit mankind. - The debate was held at the State Trinity Centre.
