Wool dearer
Prices for fleece wools were generally higher on the first day of a two-day sale in Christchurch yesterday., In a strong market dominated by Chinese interests, most fleece wool brought from about 270 c to 310 c a kilogram. Some high prices were paid for high-yielding wool s. Merino ranged . to
more than 400 c and Halfbred sold to 381 c. The Wool Board had to give, the- market only limited support and ended the day with 4 per cent of the offering sold or passed to its bid.-
The sale will conclude tomorrow.
