Bachelor Lord fastest
The free-legged pacer, Bachelor Lord, returned the fastest time of Smin lo.os among the winners of 15 elimination heats for pacers run at Motukarara yesterday. The first three horses in each heat qualified to start in three totalizator races at the Banks Peninsula Clubs spring meeting on October 4. The right of re-entry will apply to the horses finishing fourth in the best times. Bachelor Lord recorded his time when the wind was lightest Earlier in the day Castle Hanover impressed when he returned 3min 16.45. Although their times were by no means the fastest, three of the more impressive winners were Light Lord, Carteret and Gypsy Avenl. There were six heats for trotters, the first two placegetters being assured of a start. My Tuft, which started from 30m. returned the fastest time of 3min 21.55, but he was sotpping badly near the end. Among the more impres-
sive qualifiers in this section were Quick March, Winfield Armbro, Sid, Batal and Game One. Pacers assured of a start at the meeting on October 4 are: Nova Light, Timely Frost, Revelry. Scotch Cloud, Joe Charm, Sea Rover. Castle Hanover, Katsina, Cornwall Castle, Gypsy Averil, Wally Scott. Lieutenant, Logan Chance, Onedin Lass, True Alan, Game Classic, Avon Spark, True Tuapeka, Tarlad, Full Charge, Starshine, Dynamite, Claire Lopez, Brockworth Bay, Lyn Dina, Gay Lopez, Bachelor Lord, Peridah Bay, Coringa Light Trotters assured of a start are: Batal, Stormy, Sid, Moorbank Scottie, Winfield Armbro, Strydom, My Tuft. Cardigan, Louie, Game One, Tuft’s Best, Quick March, Johnora.
