The Champion oven
The Champion wall oven, one of the Champion Continental series of electrical cookers on display at the electrical exhibition, has been awarded the Designmark by the New Zealand Industrial Design Council. This new wall oven coordinates streamlined European styling with the latest of today’s technology. The Champion oven has evolved rapidly in recent years. A specially designed motor and a dynamically balanced centrifugal fan, at the rear of the oven, continuously draw in air.
The air is then forced out through a special coiled element, to heat the oven evenly. Cooking - can be controlled manually or, by the digital clock, automatiA ringer timer is also contained in the clock. The fan, because it distributes heat evenly, allows you to cook a whole multi-course meal at once.
The even heat distribution also means less burning and splattering, and therefore less cleaning. But the oven has an-
other important feature, that indirectly adds to kitchen comfort. The fan heater, concealed behind the lower grill, out of a youngster’s reach, also cools your kitchen. But if the oven is kept on a low heat, your kitchen is gently warmed. The fan can be set to start wanning a home before the family arrives. It also switches off automatically if over-heating occurs. A further innovative
move by Champion, is the defrost feature. Frozen food can be placed in the oven and set to defrost. This means the fan is operated without heat, and food thaws quickly by means of cool air circulation. To complete the oven an extra power-saving trilite door was developed. An easy cooking, easy cleaning oven, a result of modern technology, is available today from Champion.
