Electricity for women
The Electrical Supply Authorities Association of New Zealand (E.S.A.A.) is the national body representing each of the Electrical Supply Authorities in New Zealand. These include . electric power boards, municipal elect r i c i t y departments, county councils and the Government. The association’s prime purpose is to protect the rights, privileges and interests of its. members. It is constituted under a 1930 Act of Parliament and is controlled by a president, an executive committee of 14 members and an administrative staff in Electro House,
Wellington. The president and executive are elected annually at conferences held in different New Zealand centres. The Electrical Develo p m e n t Association, organising this year’s "Choose Electric ’80” exhibition in Christchurch, was formed in 1963 as an extension of the activities of the E.S.A.A. Its objecitves are to promote the safe and efficient use of electricity in the interests of all electricity consumers and in the national interest and to promote a better understanding of the electrical supply industry.
