No surprises in team
There are no surprise selections or; omissions in the Canterbury road-cycl-ing teams for the national championships at Wanganui in less than two weeks. In the case of all but the boys’ championship, the selectors, B. E. Dawe, G. T. Fowler, and C. D. Bishop, were bound to choose the first six placegetters in the centre championships, and they were required to pick the first three boys. The 32-strong team is: Seniors.— Paul Flattery, Russell Nant, Bruce Brunton, Brent Kircher (VeloCarpet Market), Blair
Stockwell, Chris Hogan (Papanui), Peter Lewis, Peter James (Woolston W.M.C.) . Jim Ryder (Timaru). The ' first ■five named are the 100km' time-trial team, with Brunton and Lewis the reserves. Reserves: Chris Holding (Hornby W.M.C.), Gary Smallridge (Woolston W.M.C.). Fowler, Hughes,
McEwen, and Smith are > the first time-trial team ; and the Fullers, Steele, and Clare the other. : j Boys: Craig. Coates is the reserve for the team time trial.
