The economy
Sir, — It is very evident that members of the Labour Party, headed by Mr Rowling, are all envious of Mr Muldoon. “Envy waits at virtue’s elbow”; hence all the jibes, etc., which Mr Muldoon has hurled at him. His name is on the Ijps of friend and foe alike. In his stupendous task which has gained him world-wide recognition as the first and foremost leader of the country, because of his astute mind in handling the problems in the economic field, that are universal and not confined to New Zealand, as Labour followers fail to realise. Those who have eyes to see and ears to hear, _ will surely exercise a right judgment and act wisely , and responsibly to continue this strong leadership. What dire straits this country would be in if its policies and economics were ever to be given the opportunity to be mishandled by a socialist Labour party. — Yours, etc., CONSTANCE L. GILBERT. September 2, 1980.
