Support sought
PA Napier Prison officers at Napier have voted to continue a work-to-rule indefinitely. They will also seek endorsement and' support for their action from the national committee of the prison officers’ sub-group of the Public Service Association. The Central Districts regional- secretary of the P.S.A. (Mr A. Millar) addressed the meeting. He said that they would attempt to rally support from every prison in New Zealand. The 18 prison officers are supporting a claim by two clerical staff for a daily mileage allowance towards the cost of travel to and from work.
