Debut for Powley
The durable Christchurch hooker, Mick PoWley,. will make his first national championship rugby appearance when Canterbury meets Southland at Lancaster Park tomorrow.
Powley is one. of two changes from the team that lost to Hawke’s Bay earlier in the week, the other being the return of John Ashworth, at loosehead prop. . Three backs are still on the injured list, although all three are expected to be fit in time for the Counties match tomorrow week. They are Richard Wilson (pulled hamstring), 'Paul Molloy, (strained shoulder) and Vic-
tor Simpson (bruised ribs). Also missing tomorrow will, be Graeme Higginson and Steve Scott, both of Whom will be in Auckland with the All Blacks for the “test” against Fiji. The Canterbury team is: Robbie Deans; Randal Scott, Steve Hansen, lan Mather; Kieran Keane, Wayne Smith; Gary Barkle; Peter McLaren; Don Hayes (captain), Dave White, Jock Ross, Barney Henderson; Ashworth, Powley,.
