Beaumont backs tour
NZPA London The British Lions captain, Billy Beaumont, said yesterday that he was in favour of South Africa making a rugby tour of Britain. Beaumont, who led the Lions on the controversial tour of South Africa earlier this year, said: “I would like to see them return to the international fold, they have
been missing out by not having the opportunity to travel over here. J “I would welcome the chance to play them in Britain.” -f; South Africa is due to visit Britain in two years but bodies opposed to the republic’s apartheid policies are certain to campaign against, the jour taking place.
