ACCOUNTANCY SENIOR LECTURESHIP and Lectureship in the Department of Accountancy. These tenured positions involve teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels. Research support in various forms is available. Applications will be considered from specialists in any of the areas of accounting, finance, or information systems (including computing). Applicants for the Lectureship should have demonstrated potential in teaching and research should have an advanced degree in accounting or finance or, alternatively, have a successful record of teaching, research or professional activity. COMMERCIAL LAW SENIOR LECTURESHIP and Lectureship. Commercial Law staff are tenured members of the Department of Accountancy and the Faculty of Commerce .and Administration. They also take part in joint activities with members of te Law Faculty. The courses offered cover those aspects of the law relevant to the BCA degree, together with post graduate teaching. Successful applicants will join other legally qualified teachers on the staff and will be expected to specialise in some branches of commercial law. Research and publication activity is encouraged. SALARIES The salary scale for Senior Lecturers is $19,083 per annum to $21,837 per annum where there is a bar, then $23,771 per annum. DEPARTMENT OF AGRONOMY AND SOIL SCIENCE (Division of Soil Science) THE APPLICANT will be expected to organise preparations, equipment and facilities for laboratory and some field activities associated with practical classes in soil science for undergraduates, and to assist graduates and staff engaged in research. The applicant should have a diploma or equivalent qualifications strongly oriented towards chemistry, as well as substantial experience in instrumentation and laboratory practice. QUEENSLAND AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE (A multi-purpose College of Advanced Education) DEAN OF AGRICULTURE The Council of the Queensland Agricultural College has created the naw senior post of Dean of Agriculture. The appointee will join the senior management group within the College. DUTIES: The appointee will be responsible to the Director in presenting the integrative view of the academic departments having responsibility for .agricultural, horticultural and business management teaching. He will— . (a) assist the Director and provide advice and views on matters within his sphere of interest, (b) provide leadership in his sector and be the chief spokesman for it, (c) advise on the allocation of financial, capital, and man-power resources within departments in his sector, . (d) co-ordinate teaching, research and extension duties and planning of departments, (e) maintain effective communication with government departments, industry {including those servicing it), and the public. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should possess academic qualifications appropriate for a senior appointment, have substantial knowledge and exnerience of the agricultural industry, particularly within Queensland, and have achieved a high level of professional recognition within the industry. Other qualifications are a record of research and development activities, demonstrated abilities and interest in public relations, qualities of initiative and leadership, organisational and administrative ability, and a sound appreciation of educational phUosphies. SALARY: The current rate of salary is $34,434 per annum ($1,319.90 par fortnight). A 4.2% increase i* expected to take effect before the appointee takes ■.up duty. ■.
