about the Sounds, strong elsewhere, decreasing .. overnight; mild in the afternoon. . Nelson: Rain clearing, fine apart from showers in the far west; westerly winds, fresh in exposed places. Buller and Westland: Fresh westerlies, changeable and cool with showers, rain spreading, from the south. Outlook: Showers in western ' districts and the far south, but mainly fine in the east from Gisborne ,tq North Otago.
