PA Auckland The four contenders for the National Party nomination in Remuera have been told not ■ to speak to the news media until after selection day, September 17. The National Party’s Auckland" secretary, Mr J. Tremewan, has written to each candidate to say that party rules state that once nominations close, candi-
dates cannot seek publicity without the permission of the electorate executive. The sitting member and Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Highet) will be allowed to speak on Ministerial matters, but not about Remuera. The National Party headquarters has been flooded with calls from people checking whether they were members in Remuera, or trying; to become members.
