Identical scores
Canterbury had two 26-6 rugby wins over South Canterbury at Lancaster Park on Saturday.. The score in the first-divi-sion match was the same as that in the earlier colts’ match. And. like their seniors, the Canterbury colts scored five tries, three of which were converted:
Canterbury was a little hesitant when playing into the wind in the first spell, but it improved in the second half, particularly in the backs.
Albert Anderson, Roger Mannering, and Richard Loe were prominent forwards for Canterbury and Bruce Deans had a good game at halfback. Deans scored two tries, with Loe, Bruce Maynell, and Alan Morris contributing one each. Grant McWhirter kicked the three conversions. For South Canterbury, D. Cotteri!! landed two penalties.
