Grants to youth groups
i Subsidies from ; the Youth Initiatives Fund have ‘ been given; to -two Christchurch youth groups. ■ > f The/Minster of Recreation and : Sp.ort (Mr Highet) .said that’ $BOO had been, given to the Creative Leisure Project of the Methodist. : Central Mission; They money will;be used'to' buy woodwork tools and sewing machines, to provide work and' develop skills for young unemployed people. ?• ■ I fX' • The Aranui co-operatiyp Trust, part of the Taua Mahi Trust, has been given $3OOO to buy machines and -materials to develop , its workshop. ‘There has been a great increase in groups showing initiative in forming themselves into work co-oper-atives and work and leisure projects. They deserve all the .help possible,” .said Mr Highet. -
