Gladstone’s Bolam Cup
Gladstone became the first Sunday soccer team to complete the league-cup double since 1974 when it beat Foresters, 3-1, in the Bolam Cup final at English Park yesterday. Jeff Scott opened the scoring with a goal for Foresters in the fifteenth minute, but Gladstone, thanks to goals by Les Highland in the thir-ty-third and fortieth minutes, led 2-1 at half time. Joe Hitchcock scored again for Gladstone soon after the resumption and it continued to dictate most of the play.
