H.M.N.Z.S. Taranaki refuels at the Lyttelton oil wharf soon after sailing into port yesterday morning. Launched in 1959, the frigate was refitted in 1978 and recommissioned as a resource protection and training ship in 1979. She will be at Lyttelton all week-end taking on fresh stores while her crew enjoys some rest and recreation. The Taranaki is open to the public from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. today and tomorrow. She is scheduled to sail on Monday morning to resume her patrols of the 200 mile economic zone.
