Sir, —How apt are the insignia adopted by New Zealand political parties which at the moment appear to cause our Prime Minister so much displeasure. Labour has the red and black L with a marked tilt to the right (despite its alleged lurch to the left); National proudly exhibits its capital N (also bent to the right) with its venom-tipped arrow head aimed .upwards at a rival God; while Social Credit appears to prefer a cleancut key which presumably opens a Pandora’s Box of home-made 59 cent notes. Should New Zealand Railways be forced to go “political” as a sort of buffer party, I suggest an abstract tunnel with a light at one end — but with the rail track torn up in between. —Yours, etc., R. L. PLUCK. August 28, 1980.
