NZPA-Reuter Amman The appointment of a new Jordanian Government was not expected to change, the country’s foreign policy, political sources said yesterday. Jordan remained vwmmitted to Arab policy mat Middle East peace couia not be achieved unless Israel withdrew totally from occupied Arab territories, including Jerusalem,, and recognised Palestinian rights, they said. King Hussein named Mr Modar Badran as Prime Minsister on Thursday after the resignation of Dr Qassem Rimawi after only two months in office.
Mr Badran, aged 46, restored to the post he held 'for more than three years until December, immediately appointed a 21 member Cabinet which included 12 Ministers from Dr Rimawi’s Government.
No reason was given for Dr Rimawi’s resignation, but the sources described his Government as a stop-gap after the death in office of his predecessor, Sharif Abdel-Hamid Sharaf. ;
