Fatal fall in river
The body of a woman, aged 90, was recovered from the Avon River near •the Armagh Street Bridge early yesterday afternoon. The woman was Margaret Callinan. a widow, of 384 , Gloucester Street, Christchurch. Mrs Callinan had been found to be missing from her home on Thursday evening.
According to her neighbours, Mrs Callinan had for many years been the habit of feeding ’ the ducks on the banks of the Avon. ■ 7 The police believe that she probably slipped l and fell into the river. There were no suspicious circumstances, said' a police spokesman. ■ •
