Racing and trotting Young trotters to clash again
Three talented young trotters look set to dominate proceedings in the Ern Smith Handicap, middle leg of the T.A.B. treble at the New Brighton Trotting Club’s twilight meeting at Addington Raceway today.
Tough Girl, Game Captain and Best Choice have each had two races this season. They have raced against each other on both occasions and have been the main place-getters on both occasions.
Game Captain, the youngest- of the trio, opened his four-year-old campaign with a fine win in the Intermediate Handicap at Addingtori on August 16. Tough girlVwas second and Best Choice was third. Last Saturday Tough .Girl again finished... second 1 ; behind Best
Choice and in front of Game Captain, which finished third. These three trotters are very evenly matched and it is likely the running of the race will be an important factor in which one wins today. However, today’s contest is a C 4 event which means Tough girl will start off 10m. The two earlier races have had C 3 fronts and she has had to start off 20m. The smaller handicap today should be enough to give Tough Girl a winning advantage over Game Cap-
tain and Best Choice, which both start off the front..' The smart Bachelor StarCorwar gelding Dundas is favoured to win the first leg of the T.A.B. treble, the Travis Stakes. He has had two races so far this season and he has won both in bold style. He starts off 10m today but he looks capable of mastering that handicap and winning his third race in a row. Dreamy Dragon, which has finished second in each of his only two starts this term, is favoured to win the third leg of the treble.
