PA Wellington The founder of the Values Party, Mr Tony Brunt, a former Auckland journalist, has decided to step down from the .Wellington City Council. Mr Brunt who is 33, has announced that he will not seek re-election for a third term at the council elections in October because he wants to put more energy into his job as an export marketing officer with the Dairy Board. He polled more votes than any other candidate for the council at the last municipal elections, and has been chairman of the council’s housing and urban renewal committee for the last three years. Mr Brunt was the only Values representative on the council. He stood for the mayoralty in 1977, finishing third.
