A young Christchurch artist is $BOO out of pocket because this oil painting, which was for sale in the Small Gallery in Shades Arcade, was stolen this week . John Corben, a selfemployed artist, said his 20cm by 28cm oil painting was stolen from the gallery during working hours and therefore was not covered by insurance. The canvas, of Herepo Ronga, was one of a set of three he had painted this year. "It is a tremendous blow to have the painting stolen, especially as I cannot recover anything from insurance,” Mr Corben said yesterday.
