Tough foe for Borg
NZPA-Reuter New York Bjorn Borg confronts a major obstacle in his quest for his first United States Open tennis title today when he meets the power-hitting John Sadri. in a second-round match at the United States National Tennis Centre. In Sadri, the 24-year-old Swede will be up against a foe with an awesome service, comparable to the one possessed by Roscoe Tanner, who upset Borg in last year’s quarter-finals. One of the fastest-rrising players on the men’s circuit, the ~23-year-old Sadri was runner-up in the Australian Open at the end of December and winner of the Benson and Hedges Open at Auckland in January and has soared' to seventeenth place in the. computer rankings. The defending women’s champion Tracy Austin, faced with a far' more difficult draw than either of her main rivals, Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert Lloyd, meets the veteran, Rosie Casals. '
