‘Times' stalemate
The management of “The Times” newspaper has said it is ready to study proposals put forward by its striking journalists. The journalists are striking for a 21 per cent wage rise recommended by an arbitration board. The management has been sticking to an 18 per cent offer because it says that is all-it can afford. —London, f ;
