One of the powerful Mercedes-Benz 500SLC rally cars that will be used in the Motogard Rally is steam-cleaned at a Lyttelton garage yesterday. Four rally cars, two practice cars and seven support vehicles, as well as many tonnes of spare parts and hundreds of tyres, arrived for the Mercedes team at Lyttelton on Monday. The rally wall start at Nelson on September 13 and will finish in Christchurch four days later.
