Success for Wellington pipers
NZPA London The Citv of Wellington pipe band'is continuing, to notch up successes during its stay in Scotland; It won three titles in the recent world championships, including best overseas band, and has now beaten some of the world’s most famous military pipe bands. _ At Edinburgh’s Redford Cavalry Barracks, the Wellington band beat the four regimental bands with which it is performing nightly at the famous Edinburgh Military Tattoo. In an “invitation military championships.” piping against the band? of the King’s own Scottish Borderers, the Royal Scots, the first battalion. Gordon Highlanders, , and the .Royal Scots Dragoon. Guards... The Wellington band won the competition with 192.5,’ points out of a?possible 200, beating the Dragoon ■ Guards by a-point .
