Boniface wins orienteering
Graham Boniface collected 23 of the 25 controls to win the Victoria .Park orienteering event last week-end. Boniface scored 285 points, heading off ; Graham Frith, who picked up 24 controls but was forced back into second place by a timing error. Competitors in the B and C courses found the terrain fairly difficult and few controls were recorded in the limited time. The novice course attracted almost 50 runners, the first four finishing within one minute of each other. Results:—

Novice course: S. Moppett, 20min 23sec, 1: A. Gardiner, 20.255, 2; S. Woods, 21.00, 3; J. and S. Swanson, 21.025, 4.
