Husband shot dead
A young wife was forced to watch as her husband Was shot dead on their front doorstep in the latest sectarian killing in Ulster. The Roman Catholic couple were ambushed by three men, believed to be Protestant extremists, as they arrived back at their home of just six weeks. Tilley McCormick, aged 21, was held screaming by two men as the third fired several shots 1 at her husband Rodney, aged 22; Afterwards the hysterical Mrs McCormick ran to a neighbour’s house in Fairway, Larne, County Antrim, and hammered on the door for help. — London.
