Mair and Company, Ltd, the Christchurch-based exporter, trader and manufacturer has announced the appointment of Mr M. B. F. Dwyer as a director of the Mr Dwyer, who has been with the company for 18 years and is responsible for the company’s wool trading activities, was appointed managing director of Maircom (NZ), Ltd, a major trading subsidiary, last year. Mr J. D. Edwards has been
appointed an associate director. Mr Edwards joined Mair and Company earlier this year as managing director of Mairship (NZ), Ltd, the subsidiary company handling the export of Skins and Leather. ■
Sir Robertson Stewart, t..e chairman and managing director of P.D.L. Holdings, Ltd, is expected to tell the annual meeting on Wednesday that the group is doing even better than this time last year. “Many of the projects we have been working on for some time are now starting to show results,” he says. Sir Robertson says that
the good results are “in no small way” because of the energy of three men who have recently joined the executive team.
They are Messrs D. Sollitt, D. L. Cook, and D. N. Bainsbridge. Group general manager, Mr Sollitt, has an extensive electrical background and is a qualified electrician. He has had en-
gineering experience in the merchant navy’, and overseas sales experience in the low voltage switchgear. Mr Cook, director of group engineering, has been deeplv involved in the design of electrical equipment, particularly circuit breakers
and related products. Hj commenced with Chilton Electric Products of Hunger ford, England, as a design apprentice. Worked for Square D,' an American! based company at Swindon, England, where he was chief designer for 12 yearsj Before joining P.D.L. in New Zealand he also held the position of chief designer for J. A. Crabtree, Ltd, of Walsall, England. Mr Bainsbridge, financial controller and company sect retary’, joined the group in 1979; Mr Bainat bridge was Financial Con-, trailer for NZ Structures, Ltd, before joining P.D.L.
