Wholesale off-take of New Zealand lamb in the United Kingdom last week has been drastically reduced in the face of. plentiful supplies of domestic lamb, the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board reported in its weekly market survey. Retailers have found domestic lamb very attractively priced, the board said. Wholesale prices for New Zealand lamb, especially’ those, grades that are of equivalent weights to domestic supplies, have eased on last week but the quantity traded at these price levels has been less than normal for this time of the year. Because of a generally quiet tone on the Japanese mutton market last week the-;, only sales of New Zealand-, mutton reported were a total of about 2000 tonnes of MM-j grade at up to 65 U.S. centsj per lb c. and f. Japan. New Zealand sellers were quoting MLI grade at 67 U.S. cents , per lb.
