Two- years ago Judith Parkes Fairhall,' of Marlborough Sounds, .beat Debbie Randell 6 and 4 in the .final of the Nelson ; women’s provincial match play, golf championships. This week,/the final between these two end-ed-with Miss Randell.winning just as convincingly,- 5-and 4< : / Miss / Randell. (Greenacres); hitting 1 the ball i/ extraordinary distances.. off the tee, put pressure on Mrs Parkes all the -way, A -15 m putt by ; Mrs Parkes < at/ the second, for -■.a’ijjjrdie two, gave her the only . hole she won in, the'; 14'/played. : She’ putted, superbly':, throughout the round; ? but/ could never match ,Miss Tandell’s length. .'The 17-y.ear-old Miss Randell, npw.. ; -.playing off scratch, never-. looked anything but' the excellent golfer she is.
