Race for trotters
Sepcial correspondent Dunedin The Waikouaiti Trotting Club is to stage a race for open class trotters this season to mark the club’s silver jubilee.
This was announced by the president (Mr Barry Barber) at the annual meeting on Thursday evening. The race will cany a stake of $5OOO and it is to be run under invitation conditions. Stakes for the slower class races at the club’s meeting on November r have been increased by $250? a race.
The club will offer $27,700 in stakes, an increase of $4350. The club showed a profit of $1,182.96 last season.
