Prospects in Gulf

Recent difficulties experienced by the BahrainNew Zealand Trading and Storage Company do not mean that export prospects to the Gulf States are any less favourable, Mr T. Sheppard, the former trade commissioner in Bahrain, has said in Chstchurch.

Exports to the area had been doubling in value every year over the last five years as well -as diversifying rapidly, and should continue to do so, he said.

Mr Sheppard ended his term in Bahrain last October and ■is now working on regional development policy with the Trade and Industry Department. He was in Christchurch yesterday to address an export seminar run by the department.
