NZPA Melbourne The Australian television performer, Don Lane, is hoping for leniency from the Australian Broadcasting Tribunal over his swearing on air. The tribunal has called for a tape of Lane’s show on Monday night, after complaints about Lane’s telling a Canadian magician, James Randi, to “piss off’. “I hope they take a lenient eye,” Lane said. “I will apologise about the language, but I will not apologise about having a shot at that fellow.” Randi upset Lane when he alleged that the international "psychic”. Uri Geller, and the British spiritualist, Doris" Stokes, were fakes. .
“I apologise to my viewers that .1 may have offended them but not to that man until" he can back up his statements,” Lane said.
