Ploughmen at it again
The ploughmen are at it again preparing for next year’s national championships,- which will be held between Palmerston North and Feilding in May. ; Already two former champions have qualified to' take part. John Thornton, from ■ Momona, twice national champion and third at Lincoln this year.
qualified at an event held by the Timaru Ploughing Match-Association; Gordon Baird, fromWendon, who won one of the national titles decided on. the Taieri
last year, is back again having qualified at an event held by the Wyndham Young Farmers’ Club; and. lan Miller, also from Wendon, . qualified at a Tuatapere Y. ‘F. C. match. G. Giffert, of Blenheim, also qualified at an event held in association with the recent Lincoln annual match.
Up until early this week the secretary of the New Zealand Ploughing Association, Mr J. 'Robertson, had. been notified of these finalists.
