J. Walker 2 0096 BOTTLER (8) 54. Has shown ability at times and chance on heavy ground. L. Robinson 3 0130 BRACK (6) 54. Seems to go best on reasonable ground, which may account for last-start Hastings failure. Good chance. D. Moseley 4 4980 INNES LAD (9) 54. Has pace to be prominent but doesn’t win them out of turn.

G. Phillips 5 6309 AVONOVA (2) 53.5. Runs the odd good race, especially on bad ground.

W, Jeffcoat 6 0030 COOBER'S KNIGHT (7) 53. Good chance if he strikes reasonable ground. Has looked above average at times. Won Stratford Cup. K. Nightingale 7 1000 FRAXIBARD (3) S 3. Looked good when winning in Taranaki earlier in year. Efforts since suggest only outside chance, even in this weak company.

S. Jones 8 0800 ARCHIPPUS (5) 52.5. Good galloper yet to show anything on comeback trail.

B. Smith 9 1204 BLUE DELPHUS (4) 52. Has rattled home on several occasions lately and definite chance in this. 10 3546 TIKEDA (21) 51. Drawn out but some of recent efforts suggest a chance in this strength field. 11 1713 ABE'S ORDER (20) 51.5. Has looked good in recent weeks. Although a winner on heavy tracks handles reasonable ground well and chance regardless of conditions. 12 0046 HEINEKEN (17) 51.5.

Latest form as a jumper. Others preferred. 13 1239 PALRAPH (12) 51.5. Has big reputation, which position in weights suggests isn’t entirely justified.
