Jones 3 ROCKY TRYAX (3) It (8h Lumber Dream—Southern Spot). First start since a dismal campaign in Sydney in March. Races well when fresh and well up to this company.

C. de Filippi 4 MACK DOUGAL (4) It (7g Scotch Abbe —Hal’s Belle). First start since February, 1979. Has gone quite well at trials, but could still need the race. M. de Filippi 5 610 MARY ISABEL (5) It (7m Young Charles—Allan’s Girl). Form was rather mixed last season, with her peak efforts outstanding. Will have to be considered as an upset chance.

H. Skinner 6 8744 IN TO VIEW (6) It (6g Out To Win—Local View). Raced well at recent trials in Mid-Canterbury and is obviously fairly well forward. Capable on his day and will have to be considered. D. Townley 7 8090 LOCAL JOE (7) It (6g Joe Reward—lrish Hall). Has not raced since March 11 when he was found wanting at Addington. Hard to recommend.

J. Crooks 8 6870 ALLSPICE (8) It (6g Estes Minbar—Allaksam). Form was only fair last season and would have to improve to be a serious threat. F. Newfield 9 3752 PHILIPPA FROST (9) It (5m Armbro Hurricane—Tiny Frost). Sure to have benefited from recent runs at trials. One of the most consistent mares in the country and sure to make a bold bid. F. Fletcher 10 0562 LORDABLE (10) It (7g Lordship—Debatable). Good second to Roydon Scott at Forbury Park on April 19 at lastest start. Has had a change of stables and looks close .to his best. Must be considered.

11 1111 HANDS DOWN (unruly 1) It (5g Armbro Del—Snow Chick). One of the “stars” of last season. Should go close to gaining the win he needs to earn a start in the New Zealand Cup. P. Jones 12 CANIS MINOR (unruly 2) It (8g Lopez Hanover —Hindu Star). First start since he raced in Sydney in March. Looks particularly well and should have benefited from recent racing at trials. Capable of a bold bid. T. Thomas RACE 8 JACKPOT 9.55 p.m.— LIGHTNING HANDICAP

QUINELLA 10.30 p.m.— RIBBONWOOD HANDICAP 54400; C 6; 2600 m. 2 0005 ANGELO DUNDEE (2) It (6 g Indecision— Dounreay). Speedy pacer which has paced some o£ his best races when fresh. Form background not all that strong, but could surprise. G. Court 3 1151 DREAMY DRAGON (3) It (4 g Lumber DreamSelect Way). Finished the season with a splendid if narrow win on July 19. Very speedy and should take beating. C. de Filippi 4 1563 GLEN MOIRA (1) 10 <7 m Smooth Hanover—Largs). Showed much ability last season. This is first start since February, but might not be wise to leave her out of calculations. J. Carmichael 5 4009 PORT VIEW (2) 10 (8 m Tarport Coulter—Light View). Form background not strong, but. looked well at recent trials. Outside chance at best. ’

P. JC4»»S 6 0720 WING COMMANDER (3) 10 (5 g Flying Lord—Fair Alda). Grand stayer, with rather mixed form background. Peak run would give him a top chance. D. Townley 7 6469 LORD LOGAN (4) 10 (6 g Flying Lord—Sweet Leigh). Not disgraced when ninth from 40m in Kurow Cup on Monday. Has gone the occasional good race at Addinglon and could be an upset chance.

R. Langford 8 5338 (5) 10 (5 m Adover Rainbow— Seattle). Good run last week at Addington trials. Looks near her best and should go close.

J. Noble 9 8000 JOHNNY REGALO (6) 10 (7 h Regal Yankee—Roschiara). Disappointing efforts for most of last season. Hard to recommend.

K. Chapman 10 1180 GAME ADIOS (7) 10 (4 g Garrison Hanover —Adio Star). First start since March. N.Z. Derby winner last season and represents best class. Must be top prospect.

R. Cameron 11 0007 ALEC PETERSON (1) 20 (7 g True Averil—Anne Peterson). Looked to be coming back to form late last season. Set a difficult assignment from this mark. E. Cowie Scratched: Ganelon.
