From forests to figures. Considering a maths problem in class yesterday are two Wairakei Primary School class-mates, Nigel Robinson (left) and John Bryant, both aged 10, who were winners in a competition held by the Native Forests Action Council for Christchurch primary school children. “I love native forests because . . . Aussies can’t match them,” was the winning reply that won John the open slogan contest. Nigel won the nine to 10 years poster competition. Both boys received copies of the novel, “A Song in the Forest,” by Peter Hooper, as prizes.
