Fortune may go to N.Z. woman
NZPA London A SNZ2OO,OOO fortune may soon be in the hands of a New Zealand woman.
Lawyers searching for relatives of Mr Harold Parker, who died in Folkestone last year leaving the money but no will, believe they may have found the New Zealand woman thought to be his niece.
“All we can say is that we have a good lead and we are following it up now,” a solicitor, Mr Michael Braid, told the NZPA. “We cannot discuss it' now. It will , take two weeks to follow up but it does seem very hopeful.” The search for the New Zealand niece began after neighbours recalled a visit several years ago of a woman who spoke with either a New Zealand or Australian accent.
Mr Parker, who was 90 when he died, lived as a recluse. He turned the woman away when she came to visit him.
She spoke to his neighbours, however, before she left.
