Prince Fumihito, aged 14, the grandson of Emperor Hirohito, of Japan, leaves Christchurch Airport after arriving from Auckland yesterday at the beginning of a brief New Zealand visit.
During his nine-day visit to Canterbury the prince, who is the second son of the Crown Prince of Japan, will stay for a week at Kinloch, a sheep farm at Little River owned by Mr Michael Sellar. He will also visit the Canterbury Museum and Christ’s College, and attend a quadrangular rugby tournament.
