Good win for Shirley
Shirley Boys’ High School avenged a 6-7 loss in the same fixture last year by comprehensively beating Kings High School, 21-0, in a first XV rugby match at Shirley yesterday. Shirley, playing against the wind in the first half, led, 8-0, at the interval and
was altogether too strong for the smaller Kings team.
Shirley’s points came from tries by Bevan Telfer, Yuzo Yoshida, Darryl Lydiate and lan Gibson — the pick of a good forward pack — and Craig Roberts kicked a penalty and conversion.
