THE NORTH CANTERBURY ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY PUBLIC NOTICE COUNCIL VACANCIES NOMINATIONS ARE INVITED to reach the undersigned not later than August 31, 1980, from registered members of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society, to fill vacancies occurring in respect to the Society’s following sub-district, as pursuant to Rules 8 and 9. (a) The City of CHRISTCHURCH and Boroughs of LYTTELTON and RICCARTON, and the Counties of WAIMAIRI and HEATHCOTE. ' • • ■ ONE MEMBER (b) The Counties of ELLESMERE, SPRINGS, HALSWELL, PAPARUA, MOUNT HERBERT, AKAROA, WAIREWA and the Borough of AKAROA, and the town districts of LEESTON and SOUTHBRIDGE. ONE MEMBER (c) The Counties of SELWYN, MALVERN and TAWERA. ONE MEMBER (d) The counties of AMURI, WAIPARA, CHEVIOT, KOWAI, ASHLEY, the town district of AMBERLEY, and those portions of the NELSON and MARLBOROUGH Land Districts within this Society’s boundary. ONE MEMBER (e) The Counties of OXFORD, EYRE, RANGIORA, and the Boroughs of KAIAPOI and RANGIORA. ONE MEMBER Nominations must indicate the sub-district within which the nominee resides and in respect of- which he is nominated. ■ All such nominations for office, shall be in writing, signed by the proposer and seconder, and containing the nominee’s written acceptance, and who all must be registered members of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society. A ballot for the election of members to fill the above vacancies will be held not later than 14 days after the Society’s Annual General Meeting on November 19, 1980. New Zealand Electricity A division of the Ministry of Energy TRAN'SMISSION I NTERCON'NECTION Benmore - Ohau “C” Powerstations NEW ZEALAND ELECTRICITY, a Division of the Ministry of Energy, is proposing to construct a 220 kV transmission line between Benmore and Ohau C to reinforce the transmission link line between the Upper and MiaWaltaki generating areas. This will give security and flexibility of system operation B essential for the reliability of supply to the South Island system. Government approval of the project will be sought shortly.
