Town strong at the top
Seven members of the eight-man Canterbury golf team which swept aside Bul-ler-Westland - at Templeton last week-end, have been included in the top half of the Town team to meet Country in their annual match at Ellesmere, on August 24.The missing man is lan Ross, who will try to help Country to a second successive win in the events
The team, in playing order, is: John Williamson (captain), Mark Street, Murray Brown, Ricky Vincent, Gary Maw, Des Turner, Stephen Street, Fred Poskitt, Paul Atkinson, Brent Paterson, Joe Gantley, Wayne Tucker, Brent Street, John Parlane, Len McKenzie, Peter McDonald. Reserves: Paul Shearer, John Prebble, Peter Heasley,’Noel Bain.
