Bookings for holiday programme ‘steady’
Bookings for the’ Young Women’s Christian Association’s August school holiday programmes were “steady,” said the programme director (Ms R. L. Cooke). : , The programmes, which catered for children aged three to 13, would probably be filled.
For five-year-olds to 1 fl-year-olds, the activities, which would run from 9.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, would include crafts, films, games, gymnastics, bus trips, speakers, and demonstrations. Children aged from 11 to
13 would be able to join a special programme including squash, swimming, table tennis, and softball, using facilities at Queen Elizabeth II Park and Cowles Stadium. There would also be a trip’ to Burnham Military Camp. Ms Cooke said a special programme had been planned for three-year-olds to five-year-olds because so many parents had asked for one.
It would entail two hours of activities, including crafts and games, on August 29 and September 5. _____
