points in the second half and win 24 points to eight. For. Wellington Stu Wilson and Paul Quinn scored , tries, and ’ Allan Hewson kicked four penalties and converted both tries. Ilami Lutumailagi and Paula Waisake scored tries for Fiji. Fiji opened with a flourish and had a try soon after the start.
Waisake pounced for the second try four minutes before the interval and Wellington was in trouble. But the-goal kicking form which deserted - Hewson in the first six ’ attempts, returned/ ? ‘ .
He coaxed over three penalties :to give his side the lead, then worked a slick tap and run from a penalty after Quinn whispered to him that the Fijians were expecting him to kick for goal. Quinn went solidly for the corner, and crashed over for a fine try.'
