Building progress
The St Bede’s College biulding programme has moved a step closer to completion with the formal signing of a contract ’between representatives of the college and the builder, Williams Construction, Ltd. The old main building was demdlished in March, because it was believed to be an earthquake risk. Work has continued since then on new staff accommodation
and boarders’ facilities. The signing of the contract for the building, which has an estimated cost of $400,000, comes midway in the construction. o’! Mr I. J. B. Wilson,■! manager of Williams ConStructtion, has said that the work was “well up” with schedule. First-floor slabs and second-floor block-work had been laid, and the new facilities should be ready for use by March, 1981, he said.
