Six die in Irish hotel blaze
NZPA Dublin . Six people are known to have died in a fire which swept through a hotel in the, Irish Republic yesterday. | The police said that a, number of other peddle were unaccounted for and a search of the badly damaged building was continuing. At least eight other people were in hospital with injuries received during the blaze, which broke out at ; the 40-room Central Hotel ini the holiday resort of Bundoran, County Donegal, just after midnight local time; (midday yesterday New Zealand time). Two of the dead were a girl of 17 and a boy of 10. Some of the injured were thought to have been hurt jumping from windows. Many residents were forced to rush from the hotel in their nightclothes. The police said that about 100 people, mainly holidaymakers, were in the building when the blaze 1 started just after ’ midnight. Most of them were young people attending a disco in al downstairs room. They said there was.a lot of panic when those who believed they were trapped [rushed to get out through I doors and windows.
