Boxer’s revenge?
By JOE HARNETT . Malcolm ‘ Platt will be attempting to-avenge two narrow defeats when he meets Temuka’s Tony Attwood in the feature bout of the Canterbury Boxing Association’s tournament, at the Caledonian Hall
Platt, who trains at Barry’s gymnasium, is a speedy, twohanded boxer who has improved markedly this year. His improvement can be gauged by the fact that he recently took the formidable Papanui fighter, Ken Clearwater, to a close points decision.
Attwood with the psychological advantage of two previous victories, coupled with a wide range of punches and a good boxing sense, will be favoured to make their personal score, 3-0, tomorrow. ' , ••■
The South Island golden gloves champion, Kevin-Pyne, of- Richmond W.M.C., will meet a hard and unrelenting boxer in Neil Nemiaof •Crichton Cobbers. - If Pyne?, is. allowed?to' use his considerable boxing skill he will win, but if he relaxes he- will win, but if; he' relaxes in any way. he will be in trouble. ... ■ •••••’■■ .? - ■
In addition to these bouts; there are 12 other matchings on the programme. ’
