Monowai to visit N. Hebrides
PA Wellington The hydrographic survey ship Monowai will visit the New Hebrides for independence celebrations next week. The Monowai is in the area after its use as a base by the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) for the South Pacific Forum at Kiribati.
The survey ship is due at Vila on July 28. Although the programme for the independence celebrations on July 30 is still being prepared, sailors from Monowai may take part in the celebration parade. The Monowai may also visit several outlying islands on July 31 before heading for New Zealand, where she is due on August 5.
